All concerned,
FEMA Region VI
has informed the Louisiana Office of Homeland Security
and Emergency Preparedness that the application period
for the PDM – C is open as of November 21, 2005.
It is the
responsibility of each Emergency Management Director to
notify any municipality, Indian tribe and public college
or university within their respective parish that may be
interested in applying. All eligible entities that wish
to develop/submit application must do so as soon as
possible. All applications must be received by OHSEP by
February 3, 2006.
The FY 2006
PDM guidance is available on Federal Emergency
Management Agency’s PDM web page at www.fema.gov/fima/pdm.shtm
or through our State Office of Homeland Security and
Emergency Preparedness, Disaster Recovery Division.
Two critical
pieces of information from Region VI:
-
Only $50
million dollars was appropriated by Congress for FY
2006 PDM
-
In
response to this for fairness, FEMA is limiting each
State to no more than 5 sub-applications
The e-Grants
sub-application can be found at
https://portal.fema.gov
As a reminder,
potential local sub-applicants
1) get a
sub-applicant Access ID# from the State
2) register as
a new User in e-Grants
3) be approved
by the State for the rights they request
before they
can start inputting information in e-Grants
Sub-applicants
must contact OHSEP POC for Access ID#.
