Geographic Information System – GIS

Federal Geographic Data Committee
The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) is an interagency committee that promotes the coordinated development, use, sharing, and dissemination of geospatial data on a national basis. This nationwide data publishing effort is known as the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). The NSDI is a physical, organizational, and virtual network designed to enable the development and sharing of this nation's digital geographic information resources. FGDC activities are administered through the FGDC Secretariat, hosted by the National Geospatial Programs Office (NGPO) of the U.S. Geological Survey. The NGPO oversees other geospatial programs of national importance including The National Map and the Geospatial One-Stop activity.

Louisiana Geographic Information Center (LAGIC)
LAGIC was established by the Louisiana GIS Council (LGISC) and the Louisiana Office of E-Services to facilitate the distribution of geographic information, provide technical assistance, and support GIS data development among state, federal, and local government.

Louisiana GIS Council
The state legislature created the Louisiana Geographic Information Systems Council (LGISC) in 1995 by a Louisiana Legislative act. LGISC consists of 21 member agencies representing parish, regional, and state governments and public organizations.

 geodata.gov – U.S. Maps and Data
Geodata.gov is a geographic information system (GIS) portal, also known as the Geospatial One-Stop (GOS), that serves as a public gateway for improving access to geospatial information and data under the Geospatial One-Stop E-Government initiative.

Terrorism

Regional Alliances for Infrastructure and Network Security – RAINS
RAINS is a non-profit, private/public partnership formed to accelerate development and deployment of innovative technology for homeland security. RAINS has forged partnerships with technology companies, research universities, critical infrastructure providers, federal, state, and local agencies, and first responders. This unique partnership has brought national attention to the growing homeland security and public safety issues.

National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism – MIPT
The National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism located in Oklahoma City is dedicated to expanding and sharing knowledge to help prevent terrorism and mitigate its effects.

Responder Knowledge Base
Sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office for Domestic Preparedness and the National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, the Responder Knowledge Base (RKB) has been designed to provide emergency responders with a single source for integrated information on current equipment, including organizing lists such as the Inter Agency Board’s Standardized Equipment List (SEL), and the Authorized Equipment List (AEL) from the Office for Domestic Preparedness.
Vendors, testing agencies, standards organizations and trainers are supporting the RKB by populating it with current data. There is no charge to them for posting their data, and no charge to the community for accessing it. The RKB is provided as a public service. The FY 2006 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) integrates the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP), the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI), the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP), the Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS), and the Citizen Corps Program (CCP).

Information Bulletin 214 - FY 2006 Transit Security Grant Program

The FY06 TSGP provides funding for security and preparedness enhancements for designated transit systems. Funding is allowed for planning, organizational activities, equipment acquisitions, training, exercises, and management and administrative costs.

Port Security Grant Program – PSGP
 
PSGP Program Guidance/Application Kit
The FY06 PSG Program provides financial assistance on a competitive basis to owners and operators of ports, terminals, U.S. inspected passenger vessels and ferries, port authorities, and State and local agencies for physical security enhancements.

Buffer Zone Protection Program – BZPP
BZPP Program Guidance/Application Kit
The FY06 BZPP provides funding for the equipment, management, and administration of actions, to protect, secure, and reduce the vulnerabilities of identified critical infrastructure and key resource (CI/KR) sites.
